Monday, February 7, 2011 I wrote this message: " Rodoz in Joan Bonvicini. A woman with balls (bronze). ... I know her marks for life. Hello John". A message that I had written with much emotion during the funeral of John who had left us, suddenly, just days before.
I have sensed it was time to write my thoughts on ViViCaselle accompanied by my personal recollection of the moments spent together with Joan, and Fausto Silvia. And given that the Arena is released today a beautiful article, I think it my duty to highlight this contribution also to the memory of Joan, recalling the long illness of Fausto and important task that now falls to Silvia and all employees of the foundry F. lli Bonvicini.

Today the Arena is out this article: EXCELLENCE. The talented and strong-willed businesswoman is dead, but the company has a future at Caselle. Joan Bonvicini, art that will last more than bronze . Silvia's daughter will now continue the work of the famous foundry founded by his father Fausto. This gave rise to works of Miro and Botero

The article, published today, then this is the Arena:
Bonvicini is Silvia, 26, to ensure the continuity of a prestigious Veronese artistic reality: the foundry in boxes Sommacampagna founded in the seventies by his father as his brothers Fausto Louis and Hector. Silvia's mother, Joan, died early on 4th February, had to suddenly take the reins of the art foundry to the disease that struck her husband, still invalid. A Silvia is left a legacy challenging, but the DNA does not lack the determination of the parents grew up on bread and art, preserves amidst beautiful green eyes, a sweet strong and combative. SILVIA
BONVICINI preserves the memory of his mother in the workshop that has seen Italian and foreign artists. Here are blended works of masters such as Magritte, Miro, Arman, De Chirico, Matta, Tomato, Minguzzi, Botero, Ghermandi, Berrocal, Castagna, Rabarama.
"Nothing stopped dad," says Silvia, "In fact, the complex massing, unusual requests was for him an incentive, a challenge."
Joan, his wife was strong-willed and stubborn. He understood that the difficult market of artistic production must know also act in a courageous way. So he went around the world to know artists, committed to treat, restore works created in the foundry. The combination of the two skills - the art of Fausto, entrepreneurship and determination of John - he led the company higher and higher. Joan Bonvicini and Fausto have managed to transfer the job to young people, and this remains the company's strength.
"Mother has always focused on training," says the daughter. "For years, designed to bind to the foundry a real school of sculpture in which historical and theoretical complement to the workshops on the techniques of sculpture and workshops on the craft of foundry." The company has
also open to the design, handcrafted furniture in small numbers. The first to arrive in the foundry were Ugo La Pietra Anna Deplano and Peppa Zampini, participate in opening new frontiers in contemporary art demands.
"My mother wanted to introduce people to art," says the daughter. 'And explain what was happening in that world, would contribute to a possible interpretation and understanding of contemporary languages \u200b\u200bin a time complex and somewhat contradictory. Even for this in recent years has promoted a number of visits to museums and exhibitions and meetings on the sculpture of the twentieth century. "
Joan had the gift of hospitality. The largest room of his home is adjacent to the foundry kitchen. A sort of personal study, chock full of books (those South American cuisine to the narrative, especially loved Gabriel Garcia Marquez), sculptures, paintings, dishes artist. It was her room, spent his free time here when he was not around the world. Here it became manager of the kitchen and preparing delicious dishes. At his table sat famous guests - artists, art critics, gallery owners - but also young people who traveled day and night to reach the foundry.
"I still remember a coach of Hungarian students who have come forward to us tired and very hungry. First, they sat down at table, "says her daughter again. When the guests were many, was the same foundry in turn in salotto.

And since it is understood that in an original sculpture is original when it appears on the work of art is the sign: 1 / 4 or symbol: I / IV or symbol: 1/4PA reached these 12 specimens the plaster copy - same as the original - which is used to make the bronzes ... must be destroyed.
The day in Foundry Bonvicini, the plaster was destroyed by Miró del Toro, among all those people who were present to represent the official act of ... I was there in the corner. Another of the memories I have, and remember ... thanks to John and Fausto. Silvia
Now it's your turn ... Many greetings
